In the province of the Apulian Lowland, one ought to visit: the Romanesque-style Cathedral of St. Thomas, where the Byzantine table “Icona Vetere” (Vetere Icon); the Theatres and the Civic Museum, with interesting archaeological finds and a picture-gallery.
In the square Piano delle Croci (Plain of the Crosses), or Piano delle Fosse (Plain of the Ditches), it is possible to admire the enormous corn tanks, symbol of the economic history of this city.
